Unwelcoming policies and pricing issues, leading us to leave before even ordering food! Firstly, the restaurant enforces an unusual and frankly absurd policy: a $3 charge for sharing food and no substitutes. Although each of us planned to order individually, the mere presence of such a rule felt like a direct disrespect to us as customers. If I am paying for food you best believe I’ll do whatever I feel like with it. Just thinking of them watching over my shoulder to enforce this policy was bewildering enough to make us leave with just ordering a drink. Additionally there was an excessive transaction fee for card payments, which only adds to the discomfort of dining here. In today's digital age, penalizing customers for using cards seems unreasonable and customer unfriendly. Lastly, the pricing did not even justify the overall experience. Even without considering the additional charges, the menu prices weren't even reasonable. An omelet for $12 is not great. In conclusion, my family and I were left with no choice but to seek a more welcoming and reasonably priced dining environment elsewhere. It's unfortunate, as we were looking forward to our meal, but the restrictive policies ruined it. Would never recommend this restaurant or any with these types of policies especially to those who value their money and freedom in their dining.

The BEST breakfast in Gainesville. We came in as soon as they opened. 6 am Sunday morning after a game night. Chef and waitress greeted us with smiles and fun energy. Food was INCREDIBLE and I enjoyed being able to watch the Chef cook it while we cracked jokes lol. My friend and I were so grateful for a truly amazing and unexpected experience. We will definitely be regulars. Love this place ❤️

Enjoyed our brunch here.. it was solid. The food was good and can recommend but overall not my favorite. Service was great.. atmosphere was diner quality.. dogs everywhere but it lacked .. maybe color? Had the sausage gravy biscuit breakfast and added onions to my hash browns. It all tasted good.. and definitely a value for your money. Prices very fair! Other meals weee good and well priced as well. Recommend for sure.. just can’t give it 5 stars..

April 20th. Just went to Darrell's again today. BEST BURGER EVER. Ordered bacon cheeseburger. Asked for it medium. Got it with just the slightest pink; perfect. And the bacon. BEST TASTING BACON IN A SANDWICH EVER. Unlike Publix's and Subway's, could actually taste the bacon and they were big, loonnngggg strips. Loved it. Very simple eating area, i.e., no diner booths, but food was outstanding. Had a burger with corned beef, cole slaw and cheese (like a corned beef special but primarily hamburger). Outstanding, sloppy but delicious (beef was especially moist and tasty). Prices were reasonable. Waitress was so cheerful that she perked me up. Place is a little tucked away on SW 34th Street, so suggest you look it up on a map. Will go back again. Recommend you try it. This past Saturday, had an omelet. It came with home fries. BEST HOME FRIES I EVER ATE. The coating on the home fries was to die for, spicy and tasty. I'm not the biggest potato fan, but those home fries have converted me, at least as far as home fries go. You need to try them. March 3rd. Just want to add, that their waitresses are the friendlies and maybe quickest I've encountered. Always, smiling, greeting me as a I walk in and leave, and dropping off a drink almost as soon as I sit down. Go for the service, if not the food. It's worth it. Oct. 24th. Today had an outstanding meatloaf sandwich, only available on Tuesday's. Take a look at this beauty (see photo).

We did not even get to try the food due to the outrageous "NO Sharing" policy. You will be charged $3 if you share a plate you paid for as stated in their menu picture below. When I read this I thought it was a joke at first and decided to ask even though I was not planning on sharing a plate and she (the waitress) responded with a serious answer stating that "it was the policy and many restaurants are doing it". I simply said "ok thank you" and left. If I want to grab the plate that I paid for and throw it down the drain then that is my problem. China is taking notes from this restaurant. Furthermore, there is an outrageous credit card fee if you pay with a card instead of cash. Also, the food is not cheap by any means, an omelet with ham and some veggies will run you around $13-14, I went across the street to Panera and ate more for less. The food might be amazing but for the simple reason of them telling me what I can or can't do with food I pay for I will never go there again.

We went as a party of nine and every one was totally satisfied with the meal served. The strip steak is cooked just right, the country ham huge and delicious , chicken waffle tasty, even the Ruben sandwich got high marks. Don't forget to try their yummy pancaks and home fries. Server Patricia is top notch and friendly. Chef James is a talented cook!

Went here for mother's Day brunch. I've eaten here many times before but only for lunch. This was the first time eating breakfast. Totally not impressed. Ordered the pecan waffle, it had minimal pecans in it and lacked any real flavor at all. I was presented with no butter and a very thin, watery syrup. I also ordered the biscuits and gravy, which would have been okay, had the biscuit not been really tough to cut through. A member of our party ordered the Philly cheese steak omelette, which came with hash browns and a biscuit. One of the options on the menu was to add jalapenos for an additional 75 cents so she requested them to be added to both the hash browns and the omelette. When the plate arrived there were no jalapenos on either item plus The Omelette was sitting in a pool of oil, like literally at least a tablespoon. When she brought it to the waitresses attention, the waitress went back to the kitchen and soon reappeared with a very small sauce dish of sliced jalapenos to be placed on both the hash browns and omelette. We had half and half tea to drink, which was not very good, it was bitter and there was no evidence of any sweetener. The only good part in the entire experience is that they have fantastic waitresses. She was very attentive and brought stuff when asked quickly. Overall the breakfast is a huge disappointment. I will continue to go back but only for lunch. They offer daily specials both for breakfast and lunch and they also have a homemade dessert everyday, which is great. The prices are very reasonable.

My mom was hungry for breakfast so we found this place still serving breakfast in the afternoon. We didn't have to wait to be seated. Our breakfast was served very quickly after ordering it. The food was cooked to perfection and the wait staff were excellent. We enjoyed the atmosphere and had a wonderful dining experience.
